RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

We offer two "seasons" of Religious Education at St. Edward, a school year program and a summer program.

Summer 2009
Loreto (grades 1-12): Monday through Friday 9:00 am-12:30 pm or 1:30-5:00pm for two weeksThese programs offers 30 hours of Religious instruction from grades 1-12. It is a three year cyclic program focusing on Creed, Church History and Sacraments, and Scripture. Cost $45 per student.

Vacation
Bible School
(age 4-K) will be offered in two one week sessions: Monday through Friday
9:00 am-12:00 pm. July 27-31 or Aug 3-6.  Cost $25 per student.

Child Care is for Volunteers only. Participants must register on the form
.

Loreto: July 27-31 Monday-Friday and August 3-6 Monday-Friday plus Friday August 7 with 11:00am Mass followed by a picnic.

School Year 2009/10
Our morning school year program, This is Our Faith (Pre-K), We Believe (gr 1-6) and Faith & Witness (gr 7-8), and mini-courses for gr 9-12 runs from Sept. 13, 2009 – May 16, 2010. This program meets on Sunday Mornings for one hour and 10 minutes, from 9:55 - 11:05AM. Classes are available for Age 4 through 8th Grade.   Cost $22/student.

Our Middle School YouthEDGE (Grades 6-8) and mini-courses (Grades 9-12) meet from 6:30 - 8:00PM Sunday evenings. This program runs from Sept. 13, 2009 – March 25, 2010.  Classes are preceeded by 5:00PM Mass. Optional dinner Sunday evening participants from 6:00-6:30PM
Cost $3/dinner and volunteer to serve.  New programs: Life Teen Night (gr 9-12) offered on the last class of the month..

If neither of these options fit your family's needs, we offer a Home Study program where the parent is the catechist. We will provide materials the parent to teach your child/ren on an individual basis. Loreto Model: Grades 1-9. Time set by parent. Cost $22/student.

JESSE MANIBUSAN, storyteller and musician is coming to St. Edward for our Parish Mission.  Jesse will be speaking at all the Masses the weekend of March 6/7.  He will present three sessions that fulfill the requirement for Catechetical Events:

Sun. March 7 1:30 p.m. AN AFTERNOON OF SONGS AND STORIES

Mon. March 8 7:00 p.m. MORE SONGS, MORE STORIES

Tues. March 9, 7:00 p.m. DIFFERENT SONGS, DIFFERENT STORIES

This event is free and open to all members of the parish.

Planning for Summer 2010?  Loreto will be July 26-August 6, 2010.  We will offer two sessions of Vacation Bible School for Pre Schoolers and Kindergarteners.  One session will be July 26-30, the second will be August 2-6.

Registration information are available in March!

Priority placement is given first to children of volunteers, then to registered parishioners who need to fulfill their Religious Education requirement. Students who cannot be placed will be given the option of placement in the School Year program or provided with Home School materials.
